The 27th edition of the Canberra Short Film Festival (CSFF) in Australia is set to screen Iranian animation ‘The Sprayer’.

The 27th edition of the Canberra Short Film Festival (CSFF) in Australia is set to screen Iranian animation ‘The Sprayer’.

‘The Sprayer’, directed by Farnoush Abedi, will take part in the festival’s Future Worlds category.

“One day, a soldier finds a seed buried deep down in the dust...,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The film previously took part in several festivals, including the DC Shorts Film Festival in the US.

It also managed to win the Best Animation award at the 3rd edition of the Better World Film Festival in Germany.

The 27th edition of CSFF will also screen more than a dozen films from Iran in a program named “Iranian Nights”.

The Iranian films screened as part of the program include ‘The Savior’ by Soheila Pourmohammadi, among others.

The first part of the program will be held on November 11, while the other leg is slated for November 13.

The Canberra Short Film Festival screens “the best short films, from Australia and around the globe, across the Canberra region”, the website of the event reads.

“We look for films of any genre and style that feature; high production values, innovation, thought-provoking themes, great use of the medium and beautiful storytelling;  up to 20 minutes in length and made within the previous 18 months,” it adds.

The upcoming edition of the CSFF will take place on November 4-20.
